I believe simply that you can’t build a house without foundations, just the same as you can’t expect athletes to remain injury free and develop sport specific movement patterns without the same quality foundations being laid.
Through movement problem solving puzzles I encourage and challenge junior athletes to fail, which in turn establishes a learning protocol from which they cognitively develop the physical strategies to solve the problems they physically encounter. This helps refine key motor skills, movement patterns and all body awareness and thus creates the foundations to physically develop.
